Set up the widget
Add the Compfeed widget to a Figma file and connect it to your team.
The widget puts a contribution's phases and checks next to the design in Figma, so a designer never has to leave the file to record progress.
For the person contributing: a designer.
Before you begin
- Edit access to the Figma file.
- A Compfeed account, and membership of the team that owns the component.
- A component already added in Compfeed. See Add a contribution.
Add and connect the widget
Add the widget to the file
Open the file in Figma and add the Compfeed widget from the Figma Community page.
You can also reach it inside Figma from Resources in the toolbar, then the widget tab, by searching for Compfeed and dragging it onto the canvas.
Open the plugin window
Select the widget and open its settings with the cogwheel. Everything below happens in that window.
Sign in to Compfeed
Connect the widget to your Compfeed account and allow access. Figma asks you to confirm, then returns you to the widget.
Pick the team
Choose the team that owns the component. Until you do, the component list shows Select a team to load components.
Pick the component
Choose the component this widget tracks. Use Search components if the list is long.
If the list is empty you see No components found, which means the team has no components yet.
Expected result
The widget shows the component's phases and the checks inside them, and its current phase. Ticking a check here updates Compfeed.
One widget tracks one component. Add a second widget to the same file to track a different component.
If something doesn't work
- The widget shows Where is the checklist?: it is not linked to anything yet. See Link the widget to a component.
- The widget shows a banner saying a new version is available: see Update the widget.
- The component list stays empty: check you picked the right team, then refresh the widget.
- Anything else: see Troubleshooting.
