Figma Widget

Widget settings

Change which team, component or process a widget is connected to.

Everything a widget is connected to can be changed later from its plugin window: the team, the component it tracks, the Figma element it is linked to, and the process the component follows.

For the person contributing: a designer.

Before you begin

The widget is set up. See Set up the widget.

Open the plugin window by selecting the widget and choosing the cogwheel. Everything below happens there.

Change the component a widget tracks

Pick a different component from Select component. Use Search components to narrow a long list.

Changing the component changes which contribution this widget records against. The widget then shows that component's phases and checks.

To stop a widget tracking anything, use Delete current entry.

Change the linked Figma element

This is the page, frame, section or component the contribution is about. See Link the widget to a component.

Change the team

Pick a different team to load that team's components. You then pick a component from the new team.

Change the process

A component follows one process. To move it to a different one, use Change process.

Changing the process restarts the contribution. The component moves back to the first phase of the new process, and its document is rebuilt around the new phases and checks. Notes against phases or checks that do not exist in the new process are kept, under a heading reading Notes from deleted phases or tasks.

Compfeed asks you to confirm before it changes the process.

Move the component to another phase

Select the phase you want on the widget's phase chip. This needs the Admin or Editor role on the team.

If the widget says you do not have permission to update the phase, see Troubleshooting.

If something doesn't work

  • The process list fails to load: the widget shows Failed to load processes. Refresh the widget and try again.
  • Changes are not reaching Compfeed: refresh the widget, or interact with it once.
  • Anything else: see Troubleshooting.
